Salt Lake (Beach of Pharaohs)
Reconnect with nature’s healing power – visit the Salt Lake, Bulgaria’s very own Beach of the Pharaohs!
Immerse yourself in the largest open-air spa on the Black Sea coast, where natural salt, mineral-rich waters and healing mud promise relaxation, beauty and wellbeing. A perfect mix of nature, health and fun awaits you!
What to expect
💧 Salt Lake Baths – Float effortlessly in the lake’s mineral-rich waters! IIn ancient times, salt was treasured as “white gold” – once traded as international currency and regarded as a symbol of power. Even today, the tradition continues here, where sea salt is still harvested through the natural process of solar evaporation. Every day, salt workers collect up to 20 tonnes of salt, shaping them into impressive, gleaming white pyramids – the final stage of this timeless craft.
Alongside the classic white salt, this unique site also produces one of the world’s most precious varieties: the pink salt known as “The Flower of the Sun”. With its delicate flavour, natural iodine and beta-carotene – created by microscopic algae that tint the crystals a soft rose – this rare salt is a true jewel of nature. The high salt concentration allows you to simply lie back and let the natural elements rejuvenate your body. The famous red brine is believed to help with joint pain, skin conditions and even respiratory issues – nature’s own therapy session!
🖤 Healing Mud Baths – Treat yourself to a natural spa ritual with the lake’s therapeutic black mud. Locals call it “liquid gold” for its proven anti-ageing effects and skin benefits. Cover yourself from head to toe, let the sun work its magic, and then rinse off in the warm waters – a rejuvenating experience that leaves you glowing inside and out.
🐦 A Natural Reserve – Beyond its spa wonders, the Salt Lake is also home to rare flora and fauna, with over 300 bird species calling it home. While you unwind, you’ll also be surrounded by the beauty of nature, pure air and peaceful scenery.
⚠️ Note: Guests will have approximately 2 hours to enjoy the salt lake and mud baths – plenty of time to float, relax and indulge in this natural spa experience!
Float, heal and shine – give yourself the gift of nature’s best spa! Return home refreshed, rejuvenated and inspired.
