What to expect
Day 1: Bucharest – Bran – Brasov – Sinaia
🕘 02:00 p.m. – Pick-up from all public bus stops along the main street. Scenic drive through Bucharest, Romania’s bustling capital. Arrival in Bran around lunchtime.
🏰 Bran (Dracula’s) Castle – Perched on a 60-metre-high cliff, this 14th-century fortress was once a hunting residence of Prince Vlad the Impaler, the historical figure behind the Dracula legend. Famously linked to Bram Stoker’s vampire tale, the castle offers dramatic views, a mysterious atmosphere, and a chance to explore its iconic towers, narrow staircases, and secret passageways. Often associated with the chilling legend of Vlad Țepeș, this is where myth and history intertwine – a must-visit for fans of folklore and Gothic romance. Entrance fee: €12
🌆 Brasov – A charming medieval city nestled in the Southern Carpathians, known for its cobbled streets, colourful baroque buildings, and lively central square. Enjoy a guided walking tour through the historic old town, including visits to:
- Rope Street – the narrowest street in Romania
- The Black Church – the largest Gothic church in Romania
- Catherine’s Gate – a beautifully preserved piece of the old city walls
🛍️ Free time for lunch, shopping or exploring the city
Afterwards, we continue our journey to Sinaia.
🛏️ Overnight stay at a 4-star hotel in Sinaia
Enjoy a delicious dinner at the hotel.
Day 2: Sinaia – Peles Castle – Return to Bulgaria
⛪ Sinaia Monastery – A peaceful 17th-century monastery nestled in the scenic Carpathian Mountains. Founded in 1695 by Prince Mihail Cantacuzino, it is home to one of the most sacred Christian collections of precious icons in Romania.
🏯 Peles Castle – A stunning Neo-Renaissance palace, often called the Versailles of Eastern Europe. Set in a wild and picturesque landscape, it was built for King Carol I as a summer residence for Romania’s royal family. While the main architectural style is Neo-Renaissance, the beautifully painted facades in the courtyard reveal a Saxon influence. Inside, the castle impresses with rich wood carvings, exquisite fabrics, and elegant Baroque touches throughout its lavishly decorated rooms. Entrance fee: €14
